The people and businesses of Albury Wodonga are suffering because of the outrageous levels of water in Lake Hume. At December 2005 the level of Lake Hume was 95% which literally vanished down the Murray River in four months. The level now is one that we have never seen before, around 3%, which has made it difficult for both businesses, locals and communities to use the recreational facilities normally associated with this body of water.
"Why doesn't somebody do something about it?"
A community group has been formed with the motto
"Lake Hume knows no boundaries and neither do the businesses, local communities and lifestyles that the Lake supports and enhances".
