We are a tiny family winery specialising in full-bodied reds, and sparkling wines.
All our wine is made on site by us. We use traditional methods such as no irrigation, hand-harvesting, basket pressing, open fermentation, no tannin additions, and the traditional ‘Champagne’ technique entirely by hand.
When you pay us a visit, you will enter into a fully operational winery, and will probably be served by one of the winemakers – Howard, or his daughter Christobelle.
We pride ourselves on our genuine dedication to making quality wine.
We have received multiple awards for our wines. Below is a selection:
- Our 2003 Cellar Block Petit Verdot won top of its class (Other Red Varietals) at the 2005 Tri Nations Wine Challenge (an invitation only international wine show).
- Our 2002 Cellar Block Shiraz won two trophies at the 2004 Rutherglen Show– Best Red wine made from fruit grown in Rutherglen, and Best Red wine made from fruit grown in North East Victoria.
- Our 1998 Methode Champenoise Shiraz has won multiple awards, including 3 silver medals.
Anderson Winery is rated 4˝ stars in James Halliday’s 2006 Wine companion, with a rating of 94 for our 2003 Cellar Block Petit Verdot, 93 for our 2003 Cellar Block Durif, and 92 for our 2003 Cellar Block Shiraz Viognier.
