Corowa

Welcome to Corowa

Corowa offers the perfect rural holiday experience for couples and families. Located on a sweeping bend of Australia's Greatest River, the Murray, Corowa offers a mediteranean climate all year round. Only 3 hours from Melbourne, 4 hours from Canberra and 7 hours from Sydney.

If you are after a short break or extended holiday, Corowa offers fantastic visitor facilities including 3 licenced clubs, 27 hole championship golf course, lawn bowling rinks, lawn tennis courts, a range of family activities. The town is a sporting mecca with plenty of water pursuits available on the Murray including swimming, boating, canoeing & fishing.

Corowa has the distinction of being called "the birthplace of federation" as it was here at the local Courthouse that the 1893 Federation Conference took place and the decision was made to draw up a constitution for the new nation.

Corowa is also the home of the National Parachute training school and the Australian Soaring Centre that operate out of the local airport. Just across the river is the legendary wine growing region of Rutherglen with its historic wineries. To match the wines is an enticing selection of restaurants and clubs if you wish to dine in style or take a gourmet day trip.
